South Carolina ASCD Rebranding as SC Association for Teaching, Learning, and Leading

For more than six decades, South Carolina ASCD has proudly served as the award-winning state affiliate of ASCD Worldwide. As the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. Except, this is not the end, it is the beginning of something special we think all SC educators will be excited about. 

Effective July 1, the organization that has brought you very best speakers and hosted conferences for tens of thousands of educators is rebranding as the South Carolina Association for Teaching, Learning, and Leading – SCATLL (pronounced scattle). Trust us, it grows on you quickly 🙂

Our parent organization, ASCD, merged with ISTE – the International Society for Technology in Education. While this move strengthens both organizations, it meant changes for state affiliates like us. The ASCD / ISTE merger announced the discontinuation of their affiliate program requiring our state organization to rename ourselves. 

SCATLL will continue an unwavering focus on excellence in teaching, learning, and leadership by promoting quality curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices that address the needs of every child.

SCATLL members can expect our continued uncompromising commitment to providing a full slate of unique opportunities for South Carolina educators. These include hosting world renowned speakers like John Hattie, sponsoring awards and recognitions for schools and teachers making a positive difference and providing access to a network of other like-minded education professionals represented by classroom teachers, instructional coaches, school and district administrators, and higher education faculty. 

While change can be hard, our members can rest assured that the exceptional products, programs, and services that have defined us all these years will only get better. 

We are excited to embark on this exciting next chapter and welcome you to join us on this journey.
